Parent Information about Masks and Access to School

Posted: August 31, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we look forward to greeting your children with our staggered entry next week, we are taking the opportunity this week to provide you with information on what you and your children can expect. Our hope is that you can help us frame this school year for your child in the most positive way to enable them to have the best possible experience as we all learn to maneuver during these different times.

Today’s message is about masks and parent/guardian access to the school building.

Masks: This year it is strongly encouraged that all children have a mask to wear at school for times when they must leave their classroom “bubble”. While masks won’t be required once they enter their classroom, they are an important safety measure for transition times such as entering and exiting the building and walking in hallways when they may encounter others outside their classroom bubble.
Families are asked to ensure that their children come to school with a clean mask each day.

Parent/Guardian Entry: For this school year, drop ins or unplanned visits by parents and guardians will not be possible. Face to face meetings will be rare and by appointment only. Parents can expect that virtual and phone contact will be the primary methods of communication.
Drop-offs and pick-ups will happen outside of the building and more information about this will follow. If picking up a child for an appointment, you will call or buzz the office from the front door and a staff member will be happy to escort your child out to you. We know that this is a big change for us all but we will continue to look for creative ways to reach out and stay connected with all of our school families.

Please stay tuned to this page and our school website for further updates each day and please share with others who many not be connected online. Thank you for your continued support!
