Reading with Online Tools

Happy Monday Grade 5FI!

Welcome to another week of Home Learning for ELA. This week I am introducing two new tools you can access to provide some choices for your English reading time. We now have a class account for Epic books. I have attached our classroom code below for you to access a variety of great books on the Epic reading site.

You might also be interested in downloading books from our public library. I have attached the instructions for SORA, your online tool for a variety of library books. All you need is your student username and password to get started.

Welcome to Grade 5FI ELA Home Learning!

Hello Grade 5FI! 

What will home learning look like for English Language Arts? Read, read, read! :) Find yourself a great english chapter book and add in some english reading each and every day. I have attached the Tower of Books Checklist to help you choose your next genre. Finished a book? Remember to jot down the title and genre so you can add your title to our Tower of Books in the classroom. 

Your Quick Write topic for the week is "Learning from Home" What comes to mind when you think about learning from home? In three minutes, write whatever words and sentences pop into your head. Bring this to class when you return so that we can share our thoughts and ideas with the class.
